Popular Restaurant Closes In Cheshire

The restaurant was known for its wide-ranging menu.

CHESHIRE, CT — A popular restaurant on South Main Street in Cheshire has closed, according to the Meriden Record-Journal.

The Record Journal reports Sweetpea, located at 912 South Main Street, closed last month for maintenance, according to a sign at the door.

It wasn’t immediately clear if the restaurant would reopen at some point. Several posts on the restaurant’s Facebook page alerted customers that they would be closed on Jan. 11, 12 and 13 (no specific reason was given). Another post said the restaurant would be closed on Jan. 15 in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. That was the last post on the Facebook page.

Sweetpea Real Foods to Go, which was known for Spanish-inspired dishes, served a variety of foods from sandwiches, soups, salads, pastas, fried foods, etc., according to its Facebook page. It served lunch and dinner and was available for take-out, delivery and catering.
