Raccoon That Attacked Cheshire Dogs Tests Positive For Rabies
Two dogs were attacked while in their own yard on Sunday.

A raccoon that attacked two dogs on Jarvis Street on Sunday, Sept. 13 has tested positive for rabies, according to Cheshire Animal Control Officer April Leiler.
The two dogs encountered the raccoon in their own yard. One dog was current with its rabies vaccination and will be boostered against rabies and placed on a strict home confinement for 45 days, Leiler said in a press release.
The second dog was not current with its rabies vaccination and will be quarantined off property at the animal shelter for 180 days per state mandate.
