Recent Cheshire High School Graduate Dies in Crash

Police say Isabella Gozzo, 19, a recent graduate of Cheshire High School died in a crash on Route 9 south in Berlin early Saturday morning, WFSB 3 reports.

Police said Gozzo was the passenger in the vehicle and she was ejected from the car and taken to a hospital where she died, WFSB 3 said.

Police said the driver, Anthony Longo, 22, of Berlin lost control of the vehicle, the television station reports.

Longo and Gozzo hit a light pole and rock wall before the vehicle rolled several times, and Gozzo, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected, WTNH News 8 reports.

Longo was also taken to a hospital, and suffered minor injuries as he was wearing a seatbelt, WTNH News 8 reports.

Police are investigating the cause of the accident. A vigil was held at Cheshire High School beginning at 7 p.m.

She studied broadcast journalism at Suffolk University.
