Why do you believe the teacher should be recognized or honored?

My mom is an amazing teacher! She has been an inner-city school teacher for 35 years. She has positively affected the lives of so many of her students. My mom has given so much love and compassion to her students over the years. She keeps in touch with so many of them, but she has had in the past! What amazes me most about my mom is she has continued to teach through a bout of cancer, only taking the days off she needs for treatment. When I ask her, why, she says, “ As long as I am able to be there I want to be in school for my kids!” My mom is one extraordinary teacher!

What's one thing you want everyone to know about the teacher?

She puts her whole heart and soul into every day of her teaching! Nothing is more important than the impact she can make on her students.
