State Rep. Liz Linehan Gets Flu Shot At Local Clinic To Promote Vaccination
Flu shot clinics are scheduled to take place in Cheshire.

CHESHIRE, CT - From the Chesprocott Health District: State Rep. Liz Linehan (D-Cheshire/Southington/Wallingford) received a flu shot today at a Flu Shot Clinic held by the Chesprocott Health District at the Wolcott Senior Center.
Rep. Linehan is promoting the upcoming clinics held by the Health District, which covers Cheshire, Prospect, and Wolcott, and encouraging her constituents to get vaccinated before the start of flu season.
“I encourage everyone to consider getting a flu shot this season, and the Health District has done an amazing job making it easier than ever. They have organized these clinics to offer easy access to the public, and they even have a mobile flu shot van to reach more sites,” Rep. Linehan said. “The flu virus is responsible for a startling number of hospitalizations and deaths each year, particularly for the elderly and children. It’s not just about protecting yourself, but also the more vulnerable people around you.”

Rep. Linehan introduced legislation in the 2017 session that would have required parents seeking an exemption from school immunization requirements to attend a science-based educational session regarding the efficacy and safety of vaccines.
The Health District will hold two clinics in Cheshire on October 10th, and one on October 22nd. Full details are available on their webpage.
