Storm Debris Dropoff Scheduled In Cheshire

Cheshire residents can drop off branches from Monday's storm at the former transfer station next week, according to officials.

CHESHIRE, CT — The Town of Cheshire will open the former transfer station at 1304 Waterbury Road (Route 70) next week for Cheshire residents to drop off branches generated from Monday’s storm, officials announced Thursday.

Brush can be dropped off at the facility from 7:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 26 and reopening from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

“Please note that NO logs or stumps will be accepted,” officials wrote in a post on Facebook. “Material acceptable is limited to a diameter of 8” or less. Please note this event is open to residents only, NO contractors drop off will be permitted. Proof of residency may be required.”
