Strawberry Fest

Lyman Orchards, one of Connecticut’s most visited attractions and one
of America’s oldest family farms, celebrates the start of the
“pick-your-own” season with its annual Strawberry Fest.

Admission is free and family-fun activities include:

  • Breakfast on the Deck (8 a.m. – 11 a.m.)
  • Strawberry picking in the orchards, including the two new fields of strawberries covering more than four acres
  • Live music on


    the deck with local band CJ West and the Downtown Train (1 p.m. – 3 p.m.)
  • Face painting (noon- 4 p.m.)
  • Outdoor Grill (hotdogs, hamburgers, etc.) (noon – 4 p.m.)
  • Cooking Demo for Grilled Chicken Breast with Fresh Strawberry Mango Salsa (1 p.m.)
  • Pie eating contests (3:30 p.m.)
  • Pony Rides (11 a.m. -3 p.m.)
  • Horse-drawn wagon rides (11 a.m. -3 p.m.)
  • Food Sampling in the Apple Barrel market
  • Craft Activities with Macaroni Kids (11 p.m. – 4 p.m.)
  • Watch donuts being made and enjoy them hot, dipped in chocolate fudge
