Suspicious Package Leads To Evacuation Of CVS In Cheshire: Police
The area was evacuated as a precaution and authorities determined that the package wasn't a threat, police said.

CHESHIRE, CT — A suspicious package in the parking lot of CVS on South Main Street led to the temporary evacuation of the area on Wednesday night, according to police. The package (pictured below) was deemed to be an environmental testing device and wasn’t a threat, according to Lt. Michael Durkee.
The Cheshire Police and Fire departments responded to the parking lot, located at 905 South Main Street, at about 7 p.m. on Aug. 28. Durkee said the area was evacuated as a precaution and the State Police Emergency Service Unit was also called to the scene.
“Once the device was properly identified and deemed not a threat, the area was once again open to the public,” Durkee said. “Cheshire Police would like to thank the public for their vigilance in this matter and for helping keep our community safe.”
