Tara Lynch Named Miss Cheshire's Outstanding Teen 2015

Lynch to represent town at Miss Connecticut's Outstanding Teen Pageant.

Cheshire resident Tara Shaye Lynch will represent the town at the Miss Connecticut’s Outstanding Teen pageant, which will be held June 25-27 at the Garde Arts Theater in New London.

Last year, Lynch finished as second runner-up when she held the title of Miss Litchfield County’s Outstanding Teen.

Lynch is a freshman at Cheshire Academy, where she is holds varsity letters in soccer and lacrosse. She is also the Class of 2018 president, a student ambassador for the admissions department and a social media intern for the school’s communications team. She is an award-winning competitive Irish dancer and currently competes for Scoil Rince Luimni.

In 2011, she launched her own personal platform, Run the World: Building Confidence and Character in Girls, and has made appearances at various Girl Scout troop meetings and after-school programs.

The 30-minute presentation is designed to help girls in grades four through eight develop and maintain a positive image and self-confidence during the preteen years. She has also helped to raise nearly $1,200 for the Children’s Miracle Network by hosting annual bottle and can drives. Miss Cheshire’s Outstanding Teen is an official preliminary title to the Miss Connecticut Outstanding Teen state pageant and is part of the Miss America organization.
