Teen Suffers Broken Bones, Internal Injuries After Being Struck by Car in Cheshire: UPDATE

Cheshire Police are continuing to investigate Monday's crash in which a pedestrian on a scooter was hit by a car: BREAKING

CHESHIRE, CT — A 16-year-old pedestrian on a scooter suffered several broken bones and internal injuries after being struck by a motor vehicle at the intersection of Sorghum Mill Drive and Higgins Road on Monday, according to Cheshire Police.

Police said the pedestrian, a male resident of the neighborhood, was struck in the westbound travel lane of Higgins Road after leaving the sidewalk at the intersection with Sorghum Mill Drive.

He was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital for treatment and it was determined that he sustained several broken bones and internal injuries. None of the occupants of the involved vehicle were injured.

The Cheshire Police Department Traffic Division responded to the scene and took over the investigation of the crash.

Police said on Tuesday that the investigation is on-going and will be subject to review by Meriden Superior Court in regards to possible charges.
