Telling the story of helping your neighbors

Each November, the Cheshire Food Drive, Inc. sponsors its annual 2-day townwide Food Drive to collect monetary and non-perishable food donations. This event also helps its year-round fundraising to support the town’s Food Voucher Program for Cheshire residents in crisis to buy food at local supermarkets.

For two days – Nov. 7 & 8 – volunteers sorted and boxed almost 22,000 individual food items – over 140,000 pounds – for local food pantries. “Our goal is to enable individuals and families to be able to purchase the food they need, not just today but for many years to come,” said co-chair John Nann. “And we hope that all town residents will continue to support this worthy cause not just in November, but throughout the year. Together, we are all helping to feed our neighbors.”
