Top Leaders Celebrate Assisted Living Services’ Grand Opening

Company Marks 25th Anniversary at New Headquarters with DJ and Food Trucks

Local leaders welcomed Assisted Living Services, Inc. to Cheshire at a grand opening celebration on Thursday, September 16, 2021 at the company’s new location at 290 Highland Avenue. Delayed since 2019 due to the pandemic, the official ribbon cutting ceremony was held in conjunction with the Cheshire Chamber of Commerce. Over 75 business and eldercare professionals attended the invitation-only event that also commemorated the homecare agency’s 25th anniversary, as well as State Representative Lezyle Zupkus and Town Councilman David Veleber.

The homecare agency rolled out the red carpet for an elegant professional networking reception featuring delicacies provided by Lobstercraft, New Haven Pizza Truck and Shake and Stir food and beverage trucks. Attendees toured the office that includes Connecticut’s first Technology Arts Gallery for independent living electronic devices, met the staff, learned more about their services and enjoyed an evening outdoors under a tent with music provided by DJ John Voket.

“Providing the elderly with personal support and sophisticated technological tools to keep them safe in their homes is crucial and rewarding,” said ALS co-owner Ron D’Aquila, RN. “We are proud of the unique initiatives we have developed to care for thousands of seniors and individuals with disabilities over the years, as well as rising to the challenges created by the pandemic.”
Ron and his wife, co-founder Sharon D’Aquila, started the business in a room above the garage in their home in 1996. It quickly expanded and they needed to move twice to larger buildings. The company currently has more than 250 employees servicing the entire state.

Sharon and Ron also highlighted the fact that the company remains family-owned and operated. Their son Mario D’Aquila, MBA, is the Chief Operating Officer and VP of Assisted Living Technologies, Inc. Their other son Nicholas D’Aquila, MBA, is the Chief Information Officer. “These two innovative young men have led us through an incredible growth period by making positive changes in the home care delivery system, all while staying true to our core mission to provide exceptional care to each and every client,” said Ron.

Over the years Assisted Living Services has established itself as a premier agency that has forged trusted relationships with administrators at facilities, elder law attorneys, social workers, and many others in the health care field. As such, the event was an opportunity to share their gratitude and provide attendees an opportunity to network in-person.
