Join the Cheshire Land Trust for one (or two!) hikes at beautiful Ives Farm, 1585 Cheshire Street, as part of CFPA's Trails Day.
Our 8am Woodlands Hike traverses the more sloping and forested east side of the property on 2 miles of easy-moderate terrain. Leaders Mark Kasinskas and Rick Marinaro will explore the farm's 80+ wooded acres and discuss local forests and forest history.
A 1-mile Western Field hike begins at 10am. Easy terrain through farm fields to the banks of the Quinnipiac River. The history of Cheshire farming and the importance of rivers, floodplains, and aquifers will be discussed.
The farm stand will be open, and strawberries may be ready for picking too (costs apply). Please arrive 10 minutes ahead of hike start time. Park and meet at the Ives Farm farm stand on the east side of Cheshire Street (across the street from the farm house at 1585 Cheshire Street.) Heavy rain postpones to June 2 (for updates, call 203-806-5165 or follow @CheshireLT on Twitter).
