Senior captain goalie comes up with key saves; junior provides game-tying goal
Junior Nick Berardi gave Cheshire its equalizing goal with less than 2 minutes left in a Southern Connecticut Conference Housatonic Division boys soccer match with Amity-Woodbridge Wednesday at Cheshire High.
The game ended in a 1-1 tie, and senior captain and goalie Nick Velleca made six saves, several of the acrobatic, game-saving variety.
Cheshire (2-1-1) plays Branford Saturday at home at 1 p.m.
