Instead of the usual processed fast-food items out there, enjoy the rare treat of thick, hand-made burgers, house-made french fries, beef hot dogs and salads and in the process help raise money for a worthy cause.

“We’re hoping to raise money for our field trip to the State Capitol in Hartford in April,” Cheshire Young Democrats president Liam McCaffery said. “Our club will be introduced in the General Assembly and then in the state Senate. We will also meet up with state Senator Dante Bartolomeo and then get a tour of the Capitol.

“Depending on their schedule that day, we also hope to meet with Gov. Dannel Malloy and other state officials.”

McCaffery and many of the 50 members of the Cheshire High Young Dems will be on hand to greet customers during the fundraiser.

“We don’t actually have a specific financial goal for the fundraiser,” McCaffery said. “Because we get 10 percent of the profit, our only goal is to get as many people as possible to come to Wayback Burgers between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Tuesday.”
