1 Dead After Car Strikes Sign On I-95 In Westbrook: Police

The accident happened early Saturday near exit 65, according to Connecticut State Police.

WESTBROOK, CT — A Rhode Island man is dead after police said his car struck a sign and overturned while traveling on Interstate 95 early Saturday morning.

Connecticut State Police said Ross W. Fielding, 35, of Greenwich, Rhode Island, was driving northbound on I-95 around 4:10 a.m. when his car left the road and hit the exit 65 sign.

After hitting the sign, police said Fielding's car went airborne before overturning on the ramp.

Fielding was taken to Yale New Haven Hospital where he later died from his injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
