1 Hospitalized After Massive House Fire In Old Saybrook: Reports
Crews responded to the fire late Wednesday night.
OLD SAYBROOK, CT — One person was hospitalized after a house fire late Wednesday night in Old Saybrook, according to multiple reports, including WTNH News 8.
The Old Saybrook Fire Department responded to a fire on Maple Avenue near the Fenwood Beach area, according to officials.
Officials said the Old Saybrook Ambulance association responded with two ambulances and Middlesex Health with a paramedic. The Clinton Fire Department Rapid Intervention team also responded to the scene, along with the Westbrook and Essex fire departments, according to officials.

NBC Connecticut reports police officers responded to a report of a sound of an explosion in the area, but weren’t sure if it was connected with the house fire.
There was no immediate update on the person’s condition.

The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Old Saybrook Fire Marshal’s office.
