$20K Raised For Old Saybrook Man Injured In Car Crash
The community has come together to support a man who suffered injuries in a car wreck.
OLD SAYBROOK, CT — A GoFundMe campaign for an Old Saybrook man who was injured in a car accident has raised more than $20,000. Eddie Young started the fundraiser.
He wrote: "My best friend, Matt Rocco, was involved in an awful car accident on his way to work on Thursday, October 10 on I95 in Old Saybrook. He was ejected out of his truck and is now suffering multiple critical injuries, the worst being his left leg. He will remain in ICU until there is progress on his injuries.
"Everyone who knows Matt can tell you how hardworking and how good of a kid he really is. He’s either working or helping his friends out. An accident like this is devastating to someone who is constantly running around working, helping out someone else, or just always out keeping busy. With his injuries and as much as he wants to get back, he will be out of work for quite some time. We need help restoring every bit of his life as we can for him, any small donations help."
