CLINTON, CT — Clinton's Conservation Commission gets an update on buying open space on Killingworth Turnpike, school officials review a draft HVAC report, and Town Hall hosts a blood drive and a veterans coffee this week.

1. Conservation Commission Hears Open Space Land Purchase Update
When: Wednesday, Oct. 14, 6:30 p.m.
Where: The Rose Room, Andrews Memorial Town Hall, 54 E. Main St.
What to know: A joint land acquisition subcommittee meeting will cover an update on buying open space land at 0 Killingworth Turnpike (Map 28, Block 39, Lot 114) and future open space purchases, according to the agenda. Commissioners will also take up residential food composting, a textile recycling update with the Sustainability Committee, invasive species and the commission's 2025-26 annual report. Correspondence includes a funding request from the Connecticut River Coastal Conservation District.

2. School Board Panel Reviews Draft HVAC Report
When: Tuesday, Oct. 13, 9:30 a.m.
Where: Superintendent's Conference Room, Administrative Offices, 137B Glenwood Road
What to know: The Board of Education's Buildings & Grounds Subcommittee will review a draft HVAC evaluation report and the district's current capital planning document, and discuss 2027-28 capital planning, according to the special meeting agenda. The subcommittee develops the school capital expenditure plan and presents it to town officials.
