About the Snowflakes in the Center of Clinton
The Clinton Department of Public Works said several snowflakes were installed in town without planning or discussion.

Post from Clinton Department of Public Works:
About the snowflakes in the center of Town —
Last year the Public Works Department was assigned the task of purchasing decorations for the center of Town to be placed on the new street lighting. We requested the assistance of the Pretty Committee, Chamber of Commerce and the local business owners in the selection of the decorations to be used.

Those decorations consisted of the wreaths and garland installed last year. Unfortunately someone decided to install several snowflakes this year without any discussion or planning which would have resulted in a very unbalanced look to the Town Center.
We attempted to purchase additional snowflakes to match the ones that were installed, but, they had been purchased over a year ago and that particular snowflake is no longer carried by the company from which they were purchased.

We then attempted to come up with a suitable replacement but due to the lateness of the season we were unable match or purchase enough to place on every other pole through the center and Post Office Square. The snowflakes will be moved to the Commerce Street Green to the new poles installed as part of Phase II completed this past summer.
Additional wreaths and garland were purchased to decorate all the new lights earlier this year and will be installed this week.
We would be happy to work with the Pretty Committee, Chamber and local business owners this spring to work on any changes to how the center is decorated.
