The Clinton Art Society (CAS) is pleased to announce the 2nd Annual Plein Air by the Sea Competition & Sale on Friday, June 5 and Saturday, June 6, 2026, in Clinton, CT. The public is welcome to watch artists from across the region paint outdoors, rain or shine, around Clinton’s historic sites on Friday, June 5 from 12pm to 6pm and Saturday, June 6 from 8am until 2pm. Thirty experienced plein air artists will set up their easels at one of three Clinton locations: the town beach, the town dock and downtown. They will complete their paintings in a matter of hours to submit to the competition and exhibition on Saturday, June 6. The event concludes with a Reception and Award Ceremony featuring over 50 paintings for sale in the Gallery at the Andrews Memorial Town Hall on Saturday, June 6 from 4:30pm to 6:30pm. The event is free and open to the public and includes light refreshments. The Gallery and Town Hall are located at 54 E Main Street in Clinton, CT. Judging for the awards is award-winning artist Susan Jositas, an artist member of the Salmagundi Club in New York and represented by Susan Powell Fine Art in Madison, CT.
