CLINTON, CT — The Clinton Inland Wetlands Commission is scheduled to continue a public hearing Aug. 4 on a proposal to construct 17 townhouse units near inland wetlands off Cow Hill Road, while also considering whether a bridge replacement project on Country Village Lane qualifies for a decision under the town's wetlands regulations.
The commission will resume its public hearing on an application for property at 0 Cow Hill Road. Applicant Tony Bolduc is seeking approval for regulated activity within 50 feet of inland wetlands or a watercourse to construct two six-unit townhouse buildings off Martin Drive and an additional five-unit townhouse building off Cow Hill Road.
Commissioners are also scheduled to determine whether an application to replace the existing Country Village Lane bridge constitutes a significant activity or is eligible for a decision. The application, submitted by David Cicia on behalf of the Town of Clinton, involves work within 50 feet of inland wetlands or a watercourse.
Under new business, the commission will consider receiving an application for an as-of-right determination for property at 32 Old Nod Road. The request, submitted by Robert Godsey for property owner Brianna Muscio, is being reviewed under Section 4.4 of the Inland Wetlands Regulations. Later in the meeting, the Wetlands Enforcement Officer is expected to provide an update on the status of a cease-and-desist order involving the same property.
The commission is also expected to consider releasing inland wetlands bonds for approved residential projects at 9 Ironworks Road Lot 2 and 110A Long Hill Road.
In other old business, commissioners will consider extending an order related to alleged unpermitted clearing, grading and filling activity within the wetlands review area at 17 Pepperbush Drive. The commission is also scheduled to consider extending an order for approved improvements within previously disturbed upland areas at 7 Baxter Road.
The agenda also includes two informational notices from the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection regarding planned aquatic pesticide treatments at Hagedorn Pond on Nod Road and at Riverdale Farm Campground on River Road. The agenda states no commission action is required on either notification.
The special meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 4, at the Town Hall Annex, 48 E. Main St.
