Clinton Favorite The Engine Room Returns To The Pierson Gazebo For A Free Concert

CLINTON, CT — After a summer that has tested concert organizers with more than its share of soggy Thursday evenings, Clinton's 2026 Summer Concert Series is closing out August on a high note — and The Engine Room is the band doing the honors.

The Connecticut rock and roll act takes the stage Thursday, Aug. 13, at the Pierson Gazebo, from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. The concert is free. Bring a lawn chair, bring the whole family, and plan to stay for the full set.

The Engine Room has built a following along the Connecticut shoreline by doing one thing exceptionally well: playing rock and roll that works for everyone in the crowd, regardless of age. That is a harder trick than it sounds, and it is why the band keeps showing up on summer concert rosters from Clinton to Killingworth. Their sets draw on the broad, deep catalog of classic rock — the songs that people know in their bones, the ones that make even the most firmly seated listener start tapping a foot and then, before long, doing something that looks suspiciously like dancing. They are, by every account, a band that delivers a fun evening of live music and means it.

This particular Thursday has been rescheduled from earlier in the summer, when rain had the final say on concert night. Rather than cancel the show outright, organizers pushed it to August — and extended the entire concert series through the end of the month to make room. The result is two remaining shows on what is now a late-summer run:

Aug. 13 — The Engine Room (rescheduled)

Aug. 20 — Furious George (rescheduled)
