Blinn, Wahlquist, Neri: Recent Death Notices From Clinton

ORANGE, CT — Condolences are extended to the family and friends of those who have recently died.

Rosa Aida Torres, 85, died Aug. 11. She worked as a machine operator at Chesebrough-Ponds/Unilever for more than 30 years. She is survived by three children, four grandchildren and three siblings.

David Theodore "Ted" Wahlquist Jr., 88, died Aug. 10. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1955 to 1959 with the 93rd Bomb Squadron. He worked as a technical support engineer specializing in aircraft engines for companies including Sikorsky Aircraft, General Dynamics Electric Boat and Pratt &
Whitney Aircraft. He is survived by a daughter, two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

John L. Neri, 93, died June 30. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict, then spent 37 years with the Clinton Volunteer Fire Department, where he helped establish the town's emergency medical service and trained
EMTs. He also served as chairman of the Clinton Housing Authority for 40 years. He is survived by his wife, Diane, a stepdaughter and a brother.

David Lloyd Blinn, 86, died June 19. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era and worked as a manager at Clinton Grain and Hardware. He is survived by seven children along with several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
