• Clinton Gas Prices Above State Average As Connecticut Prices Ease (patch.com) — Drivers in Clinton are paying more at the pump this week, with the only locally reported station listing regular gas at $4.49 per gallon, above state, regional, and national averages. While Connecticut's overall average price has dipped slightly since last week, it remains significantly higher than a year ago, making it important for Clinton motorists to watch for price changes around town.
• Dollar General and 5 Other Major Stores That Are Closing in October (financebuzz.com) — Clinton shoppers will lose their Stop & Shop on East Main Street when it closes October 29, with employees offered transfers and an Aldi planned across the street. The article also tracks similar October closures at other chains nationwide, highlighting how changing retail decisions could affect where and how residents buy groceries and find discounts.
