Sunday, August 27, 2012 was a big day at Green Hill Martial Arts in Killingworth! Local Author Edward Ricciuti was presented with his certificate for 3rd Dan (degree) black belt in Chon Tu Kwan Hapkido. The septuagenerian is co-president of Killingworth's Green Hill Martial Arts (www.greenhillmartialarts.org), a non-profit school that teaches self defense for men, women, and children. His test for this level showcased his knowledge of advanced techniques against chokes, kicks, strikes, and a variety of aggressive attacks from an opponent.
Scott Perry may not look like he needs to learn self defense - he's bigger than most people you'd meet outside a football locker room, but in addition to his skills in the legaldefense department, he recently proved his proficiency in physical self defense. On August 26th, Mr. Perry completed the challenging requirements necessary for the rank of Black Belt in Chon Tu Kwan Hapkido. In addition to being a student at Killingworth's Green Hill Martial Arts, he helps teach our newer students as an assistant instructor.
We also added 2 new yellow belts, 2 orange, and a black belt candidate to our family. Congratulations to all of you!
