Welcome to the Voice of the Veteran Blog! With the military drawdown in Afghanistan looming, the withdrawal from Iraq, and constant danger of uncertainty from Iran and North Korea, this page will serve to paint the picture from a veterans perspective. I served in the United States Marine Corps on Active Duty from 2000-2005, and reserves from 2005-2008. While on Active Duty, I was deployed twice in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, for the initial invasion in 2003, and again to Fallujah in 2004-05. While in Iraq I witnessed the awesome power of our military, and the selflessness and devotion of its' members to protect and uphold our values and way of life. Now, as a disabled veteran, I witness the struggles that our military men face when they are back home. From unemployment, to fighting demons of the perils they have faced, our veterans need our support in more ways than most people know. I will be offering suggestions on ways to help them, as well as providing resources to the veterans themselves. I hope all can take something away from this Blog! God Bless America, and to the Vets: THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE!
