Black Friday Traffic Alert In Clinton

Police are advising Clinton residents to be prepared for heavy traffic jams on Black Friday (and beyond) and to take alternate routes.

CLINTON, CT — Clinton Police are advising residents to be prepared for heavy traffic jams in the area of The Clinton Crossing Outlets on “Black Friday,” the day after Thanksgiving (Nov. 24) and through the weekend.

Police anticipate there will be heavy traffic jams, including lengthy backups on Route 81 and the I-95 interchange, (as well as local roads intersecting in this area) in the area of The Clinton Crossing Outlets. These delays are also anticipated on Saturday and Sunday as well, according to police.

Police said local residents should consider alternate routes to bypass the area of the Outlet Center. Suggested routes include: Cow Hill Road, Hurd Bridge Road, Glenwood Road and Liberty Street.

“It also suggested that local residents needing to access I-95 utilize exit 62 in Madison, and exit 64 in Westbrook, as exit 63 in Clinton will be extremely congested,” police said in a press release. “From all of us at The Clinton Police Department we wish you a very Safe and Happy Thanksgiving Holiday!!!”
