Post from Clinton Department of Public Works:

The Department of Public Works continues to prepare for the storm. Crews have spent the morning inspecting equipment to assure it is ready. Our local contractors have been contacted and stand ready to respond when needed. We cannot emphasize enough the importance of following the advice and directions that will be coming from both the Local and State governmental agencies.

• There will be a Town wide parking ban instituted at 4 p.m. this afternoon. Cars are prohibited from parking on the street and must leave room on the side of the road to allow for removal of snow. We recommend a minimum of 3 ft. of open space be left open along the side of the road.

• Alternative parking places will be provided at the Town hall and IRRC Park & Recreation Facility where cars may be left if you have no room in your area. That information will come from the office of First Selectman this afternoon.

During this time, it is important to remember others safety as well as your own. If you don’t have to be on the road, please do not go out.
