Body Recovered From Water In Old Saybrook Identified: UPDATE
The body was pulled from the water on Tuesday morning.

OLD SAYBROOK, CT — (UPDATE): The body recovered from the water in Old Saybrook on Tuesday morning has been identified as William Zadrozny, 18, of Clinton, according to Chris Collibee of the Connecticut DEEP. Zadrozny was the kayaker who went missing on Memorial Day.
The CT DEEP Environmental Conservation Police (EnCon), with the assistance of Old Saybrook Police, on Tuesday morning recovered the body on Long Island Sound off the coast of Old Saybrook. The remains were brought onshore at DEEP Marine Headquarters in Old Lyme and transported to Office of the Chief Medical Examiner’s Office, according to Collibee.
The U.S. Coast Guard had called off the search for Zadrozny at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, May 29. Crews began searching for him at about 5 p.m. on Memorial Day when Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Long Island Sound received a call from a Good Samaritan reporting an overturned kayak with a lifejacket and fishing gear on board, according to the Coast Guard.

NBC Connecticut reports a vigil is planned for Zadrozny at Saybrook Point at 7 p.m. on Tuesday.
