Bond Proposals For Road and Bridge Repair Rejected in Clinton
13 percent of the town's registered voters came out to vote.

Voters in Clinton rejected a proposal to bond $6 million in capital improvements, the New Haven Register reports.
According to the Register, voters rejected a $4.2 million appropriation to repair roads and bridges, build sidewalks and reconstruct riverfront bulkheads. Voters also rejected a $1.6 million proposal to install a turf field at Ethel Peters Recreation Complex.
Voters approved a $650,000 appropriation to purchase new breathing apparatus for the town’s volunteer firefighters.

First Selectman William Fritz told the paper the town will have to consider whether to resubmit the $4.2 million plan to referendum again.
