Decorating on a Budget

OK MEN!!! This one is for you!  Believe it or not, a decorating blog I think you'll like!  

I've been talking about organizing closets and mudrooms.  This week lets look at your GARAGE!!!  Are you tired of not finding your tools, paint brushes, or just anything?  Is your garage so loaded that you can't get any cars into it?  Lets look at some ways you can get that garage in shape!!

First of all, I am sure there is some weeding out to do - guys - I know this is painful!  There is that 2 x 4 that you just might need sometime in the future - right?   Still, try and go through and honestly assess your need for the items you are storing.  

Next step - Home Depot or Lowes will have lots of metal storage shelves to choose from! Make sure you get ones that are extra sturdy.  You might want to also choose some with doors that lock for those items like paint thinner.  Get the maximum number of shelves that will fit in your space (remember you can acquire these over time!).  Then use them!! This picture from BHG has some great ideas. Don't forget that peg board is another way to store a lot of those tools!
