Foodie In Florence: Being Sustainable From Meals to Mascara

Being sustainable is more than eating locally. Be careful about cosmetics that grace our shelves too!

Leading a sustainable life is so much more than eating locally and organically. From your clothing to cosmetics, you should be thinking green too!

The harsh reality is that there are many products that have been tested by animals before they grace the glitzy shelves. It's important to distinguish the good from the bad and there are many resources to help us be conscious consumers. Because nothing is stated on the label that products are or are not cruelty free, we have to do a little research. The database from the peta website is my favorite.

You can search by company or the type of product you're looking for. One of these companies is called Arbonne International and is both vegan certified and doesn't test on animals. It's what I use for shower supplies, cosmetics, body care, and vitamins. Customers can only buy through consultants, like myself. If you're looking to make a change in your home, health, and cosmetic bag Arbonne can make you a green goddess (http://www.arbonne.com)

Go check out the list and see what companies you've been supporting at your vanity!
