Foodie In Florence: We're All In It Together
Learn what CSA's are, why they are so rewarding, so sustainable and so delicious!

"We're all in it together". I know, it sounds a lot like some song we sang together at summer camp but today it actually has a lot to do with dinner. This idea of working together has been implemented in a new farmer to consumer relationship. It's done through what is called Community Supported Agriculture (more commonly referred to as CSA's)
Through CSA's consumers "buy in" with a local farm at the beginning of a season and every week members will recieve a box of fruits, veggies, or even meats and cheeses. It all depends on what (or which) CSA you decide to join.
Not only is everything you're receiving for you or your family the freshest of all ingredients, it's seasonal, could be inspiring and definitely educational. Have too many tomatoes? Ask how to can them! Have no idea what lonely veggie is left in your box? Ask what to do with it! Aside from getting really close to your food, you'll be building a relationship with 'your farmer'. It is this idea of being a co-producer that makes leading a sustainable life so stellar.
