Budget Referendum Results In Clinton
Residents went to the polls Wednesday to vote on the town and school budgets for the second time this month.

CLINTON, CT — The results are in and both the town and school budgets were rejected by voters in Wednesday’s budget referendum. Both budgets also failed during a referendum on May 9.
In Wednesday’s budget referendum, the town budget failed by a vote of 1,678 to 1,599 while the Board of Education budget was rejected by a 1,672 to 1,602 vote.
The voter turnout was 33 percent, according to the Town Clerk’s Office. There were 77 absentee ballots issued and all were returned.

In the first budget referendum on May 9, the town budget was rejected 1,807 to 1,534 and the Board of Education budget failed 1,805 to 1,536.
