Clerk Assaulted Over Cigarettes: Clinton Police

Police say an intoxicated man punched a clerk twice in the face during an argument. Police are asking for help with identifying the suspect.

CLINTON, CT — Clinton Police are asking for assistance with identifying a suspect accused of assaulting a clerk during an argument over cigarettes. Police responded to the Shell gas station at 54 West Main Street on the report of a customer assaulting a clerk.

The suspect (pictured) began to argue with the clerk over cigarettes. The customer, who was believed to be intoxicated, confronted the clerk and punched him twice in the face, according to police.

Police said the suspect then fled in a silver or light blue SUV.
