‘Click It Or Ticket’ Campaign Announced In Clinton

Clinton Police will have extra patrols out enforcing seat belt violations as part of the upcoming 'Click it or Ticket' campaign.

CLINTON, CT — The Clinton Police Department in association with the Connecticut Department of Transportation will be conducting a seat belt enforcement campaign during the dates of May 22 through June 4.

Motorists caught not wearing a seatbelt while operating or riding in the front seat of a motor vehicle will be fined a minimum of $92, according to police. (To sign up for Clinton breaking news alerts and more, click here.)

Connecticut state law requires seat belts must be worn by all front seat passengers in any motor vehicle, and by any passenger (front or rear seated) under the age of 18.

“Although seatbelt laws are applicable and enforceable on every day of year, during this two-week time period officers will be on patrol to exclusively seek out and enforce seatbelt violations,” police said in a press release. “Please be safe and heed the warning: ‘Click it or Ticket’.”
