Clinton EDC Advances AI Commercial Property Search Tool And Clinton Connect Proposal

CLINTON, CT — The Clinton Economic Development Commission voted June 18 to advance two technology-focused proposals aimed at improving access to local business information and increasing communication with residents about town events.

Meeting in a special session at Clinton Senior Insurance on West Main Street, commissioners voted 4-0 to move forward with a proposal involving an artificial intelligence application designed to improve search functions for commercial property information. The commission's action authorizes the proposal to be presented for further consideration.

Commissioners also unanimously approved a proposal for "Clinton Connect," a townwide text messaging system that would distribute information about community events directly to residents. Under the proposal, the service would be administered by the Economic Development Commission coordinator and used to send SMS notifications related to town activities and announcements. The motion passed 4-0.

Chairman John May called the meeting to order at 6:40 p.m. Commissioners Dylan Walter, Marc Palmieri, Antonella Vertucci and Bob Murdock were present. Murdock made both motions approved during the meeting, with Vertucci seconding the artificial intelligence proposal and Palmieri seconding the Clinton Connect proposal.

The meeting adjourned at 6:55 p.m. after completion of the two agenda items.
