Clinton Election 2016 Results: Winners Declared in Local Races
Results for state senate and house races.

CLINTON, CT — Republican incumbent Art Linares won another term in the 33rd State Senatorial District, defeating Democratic challenger Norm Needleman and Green Party candidate Colin Bennett.
In the 35th State House District, incumbent Republican Jesse MacLachlan won a second term with a victory over Democrat Ellen Dahlgren, Libertarian Austin Coco and Green Party candidate Ian Barron.
CLINTON, CT — Clinton residents will head to the polls on Nov. 8 for the 2016 midterm election. Polling places in Clinton will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. On the ballot, registered voters in Clinton will be able to select candidates for president and vice president, United States senator, representatives to U.S. Congress, state senator, state representative, and registrar of voters.

In the 33rd State Senatorial District, Republican incumbent Art Linares is being challenged by Democrat Norm Needleman and Green Party candidate Colin Bennett.
Linares is the lead Republican senator on the state legislature’s Planning and Development Committee. An Assistant Minority Leader, Linares also serves on the Education Committee, the Internship Committee and the Judiciary Committee.

Needleman is currently serving his third term as First Selectman of Essex and also founded Tower Laboratories, a manufacturing business.
Bennett’s priorities are “improving job growth through ramping up the state's clean energy economy, improving education for all of our children and young people, and stabilizing taxes for low and middle income families,” according to his Facebook page.
In the 35th State House District, incumbent Republican Jesse MacLachlan is facing Democrat Ellen Dahlgren, Libertarian Austin Coco and Green Party candidate Ian Barron.
Democrat June Hansen and Republican Peter Giannotti are the candidates for registrar of voters.
The candidates for president and vice president are Republicans Donald Trump and Mike Pence, Democrats Hillary Clinton and Tim Kaine, Libertarians Gary Johnson and Bill Weld, and Green Party candidate Jill Stein and Ajamu Baraka.
For United States Senate the candidates are Richard Blumenthal, Democrat, Dan Carter, Republican, Richard Lion, Libertarian, and Jeffrey Russell, Green Party.
For United States Congress, the choice is between Democratic incumbent Joe Courtney, Republican Daria Novak, Libertarian Daniel Reale and Green Party candidate Jonathan Pelto.
