CLINTON – When John Lampe talks about Clinton Family Theatre, you can hear the pride and joy in his voice as he reminisces about its 29 year run. John, a music teacher at The Morgan School for the past 31 years, is particularly proud of the fact that the group, which started with young school age & high school aged actors, but over the years has actors of all ages in its cast and crew.
In fact, about 20 percent of the group are original still appear in shows from time to time. Not only have a lot of actors been with John for 29 years, but so have many of his assistants, too … such as Kim Erickson, the Production/Stage Manager, Diana Harris the Choreographer, and Matt MacKinney the Lighting Designer.
The theater group is the longest running community theater group here on the shoreline. Even though the group is run under the auspices of the Clinton Park & Rec Department they are self- supporting so funding is always a challenge, so he group works very hard to keep costs down without scrimping on the production. Here is one review from a recent patron.

“I have seen several of Lampe’s works in Clinton and he is a theatre wizard. If you want to see personal transformations of people like you and me, please go to see ANY production directed my Mr. Lampe. He’s gifted ... so are the players. James Monahan, Madison
This year's production is of “You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown”. It is a musical based on the characters created by cartoonist Charles M. Schulz in his comic strip, Peanuts. Though considered a "good man" by his friends, Charlie Brown can't seem to win the heart of the Little Red-Haired Girl, nor his friend Lucy, her crush, the piano-playing Schroeder. Meanwhile Snoopy and Linus daydream and the rest of the friends battle with kites, school, baseball and misunderstandings before finally coming to realize what makes them truly happy.
