Clinton Inland Wetlands Commission To Review Bridge Replacement, Former Landfill Project

CLINTON, CT — The Inland Wetlands Commission is scheduled to receive an application to replace a bridge on Country Village Lane and consider action on the proposed closure and remediation of the former Old Nod Road landfill during its regular meeting on Tuesday, July 7.

The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. in the Rose Room at Town Hall, 54 E. Main St.

One of the commission's primary agenda items is a new application for regulated activity associated with replacing the existing bridge at 10 Country Village Lane. The application, submitted by David Cicia on behalf of the Town of Clinton, seeks approval for work within 50 feet of inland wetlands or a watercourse. The commission is expected to formally receive the application.

Commissioners are also scheduled to continue the public hearing on a proposal to construct three townhouse buildings on property at 0 Cow Hill Road. The application calls for two six-unit townhouse buildings off Martin Drive and an additional five-unit townhouse building off Cow Hill Road. The public hearing is expected to be continued to the commission's Aug. 4 regular meeting.

Under old business, the commission is eligible to act on an application concerning the closure and environmental remediation of the former Old Nod Road landfill. The proposal involves regulated activity within 50 feet of inland wetlands or a watercourse on town-owned property.

Commissioners will also receive correspondence regarding a state permit notification for aquatic treatment at Riverdale Farm Campground on River Road. The agenda states that no commission action is required. The meeting also includes approval of the June 2 meeting minutes and a report from the Wetlands Enforcement Officer.
