Clinton Election 2017 Results: Vote Totals For All Races
Residents voted on several local positions and referendum questions on Nov. 7. Here are the results.

CLINTON, CT — Democrat Christine Goupil won a three-way race for First Selectman by defeating Republican Kirk Carr and incumbent First Selectman Bruce Farmer, who ran as a Write-In Candidate after losing to Carr in the primary election, in Tuesday’s municipal election. Goupil finished with 2,079 votes, while Carr received 1,558 and Farmer finished with 221.
In the race for Board of Selectmen, Democrat Jack Scherban was the top vote-getter with 2,031 votes and was followed by Democrat Timothy Guerra with 1,926 votes, Republican Carol Walter with 1,716 votes and Republican Phil Sengle with 1,662 votes.
Democrats Dara Onofrio, John W. Olsen and Michael Smith were the top vote-getters for Board of Finance. Smith received 2,167 votes and was followed by Onofrio (2,139 votes), Olsen (1,942 votes) and Republicans Thomas Hollinger (1,826 votes) and Gary Bousquet (1,681 votes).

For the Board of Education, Democrat Kimberly Russo was the top vote-getter with 2,273 votes and was followed by Democrat Erica Gelven with 2,179 votes, Republican Douglas Traynor with 1,930 votes, Democrat Jason Adler with 1,903 votes, Republican Todd Pozefsky with 1,826 votes and Green Party candidate Hugh D. Birdsall with 990 votes.
For the Planning and Zoning Commission, Democrat Michael Rossi received the most votes at 2,154 and was followed by Democrat Ellen Dahlgren with 2,145 votes, Democrat Amandeep Singh with 1,909 votes, Republican Michael Hughes with 1,822 points, Republican Drew Richards with 1,778 votes, Republican with Adam Moore 1,742 votes, Green Party candidate James J. Connolly with 1,314 votes and Clinton First Party candidate Edward Alberino Jr. with 1,107 votes.

For Planning and Zoning Commission Alternate, Democrat Bethany Knight received 2,517 votes and Clinton First Party candidate Jeffrey Cashman received 1,572 votes.
For Zoning Board of Appeals, Democrat Charles McEvoy received 2,428 votes, while Republican Mark Richards had 2,343 votes and Democrat Bertram Schmitz had 2,371 votes. For Zoning Board of Appeals Alternate, Democrat Nancy Stone received 2,441 votes and Republican Jay Ciarleglio had 2,192 votes.
For Police Commissioners, Democrat Lynn Hidek received 2,673 votes and was followed by Democrat Edward Tessman with 2,319 votes, Republican Dominic Morelli with 2,125 votes and Republican Kim Neri with 1,625 votes.
The results of all three ballot questions were “No.”
There are 9,859 registered voters in Clinton with 3,911 votes cast for a 40 percent voter turnout.
