Clinton Police Initiatives To Help People With Cognitive Disabilities
The department is investing in two new initiatives to assist people with cognitive disabilities.
CLINTON, CT — The Clinton Police Department has started two initiatives intended to help residents with cognitive disabilities, according to FOX 61. Along with Clinton Public Schools, the department is distributing 'Empower Cards' to students in special education, which includes the student's photo, address, disabilities, and emergency contact info.
The department also received a $6,000 grant from the Alzheimer Foundation for Project Lifesaver. This equipment utilizes a personal transmitter to pinpoint a person's location. This can reduce a search that would normally take hours to a matter of minutes.
