Clinton Police Officer Honored For Investigation Of Multi-State $1 M Burglary Ring
The officer was recognized by the U.S. States Attorney's Office on Wednesday.

CLINTON, CT — Clinton Police Officer Christopher Varone was honored by U.S. States Attorney Deirdre M. Daly on Wednesday morning as part of the annual U.S. Attorney’s Office Law Enforcement Awards Ceremony. Varone was recognized for work investigating a multi-state commercial burglary ring. The ceremony at the City of New Haven’s aldermanic chambers recognized more than 160 federal agents, police officers and community members for their investigative efforts and other contributions to approximately 30 significant federal criminal prosecutions and civil cases in Connecticut, according to a news release.
The highlighted cases demonstrate the broad variety of work performed by local, state and federal law enforcement agencies in Connecticut. “Today, we proudly recognize our law enforcement partners and community members for their exceptional achievements this past year and their courageous dedication to ensuring the safety and security of our communities,” Daly said in a statement. “These award recipients have served the people of Connecticut and our nation with distinction and integrity, and it has been my sincere honor to work with them in the cause of justice.”

“Officer Christopher Varone was recognized by the United States Attorney, Deirdre M Daly, today for his excellent work investigating a multi-State commercial burglary ring. Clinton Police worked closely with the FBI in New Haven and other law enforcement agencies across the country to identify the members of a gang who were responsible for committing many burglaries along the Eastern seaboard resulting in nearly one million dollars in losses. Congratulations to Officer Varone on a job well done!
