Clinton School Building Committee Recommends Firm For Jared Eliot Middle School Project

Here's who Clinton's School Building Committee recommended for the Jared Eliot Middle School project.

CLINTON, CT — The School Building Committee voted unanimously July 1 to recommend Antinozzi Associates to the Town Council for programming, conceptual design and cost estimating services for the planned window wall and heating unit replacement project at Jared Eliot Middle School.

The committee met in a special session at the Board of Education Administrative Offices and immediately entered executive session to review qualifications and fee proposals submitted in response to the town's request for qualifications and request for proposals for the project. The motion to enter executive session passed 5-0.

The committee returned to open session five minutes later. Todd Hajek, the town's director of public works, moved to recommend Antinozzi Associates as the most qualified responsible proposer and to recommend awarding the contract for programming, conceptual design and cost estimating services. Jeff Stevens seconded the motion, which passed 5-0.

Committee members present included Business Manager Charles Carey, Director of Buildings and Grounds Gonzalo Carrión, Town Council member Dennis Donovan, Board of Education Buildings and Grounds Subcommittee member Erica Gelven, Hajek, Superintendent of Schools Maryann O'Donnell, and residents Jack Scherban and Jeff Stevens.

The meeting adjourned at 9:36 a.m.
