Clinton Selectmen Look to Bypass the Zoning Rules [OPINION]
Clinton selectmen want municipal property exempt from zoning regs.
The Selectmen of the Town of Clinton want us to vote and make themselves Lords and Masters of all they Survey. If the Town can have that exclusive authority, they can and will use it at any time they wish, even when against the wishes of the townspeople. I suggest that all interested parties attend the hearing and make their opinions known and vote this into history.
There is a strong history in Connecticut of Government giving themselves the power and authority to do things that really only give them more power, and that power seems to get abused over and over again.
Our taxes are already too high to allow them to take the townspeople out of the decision making process. Let the town stand by the zoning laws and decisions of the zoning commission, they way it has been designed to do. Otherwise, the next thing you know they will be voting to annex part of your property for the “Good of the Town”.
