Clinton Sobriety Checkpoint Results in 2 Juvenile Arrests, 4 DUI Arrests

Police also issued summons for alleged driving with a suspended license.

The Clinton Police Department, in conjunction with the Partners in Community of Clinton, conducted a sobriety check point on Central Avenue in Clinton.

The checkpoint was open from 9 p.m. Saturday, June 6, until 2:30 a.m. Sunday, June 7.

“In the five and a half hours that this sobriety check point was conducted officers arrested four persons for violation of Ct. General Statute 14-227a of the C.G.S. Operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol/drug or both,” Jeremiah Dunn of the Clinton PD said.

The subjects arrested were transported to the Clinton Police Department where they were processed, released on bond and are scheduled to appear in Middletown Superior court on June 19.

Two juveniles were arrested for possession of alcohol by a minor and one person was arrested for possession of less than a ½ ounce of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Four other people were issued a summons for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and are also scheduled to appear in Middletown Superior court on June 19.

Five people were issued infractions for operating vehicles without a license.
