Clinton Student Named U.S. Senate Page

CLINTON, CT — U.S. Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) has appointed Daniel Radka, a junior at The Morgan School in Clinton, as a U.S. Senate Page for the Fall 2017 Senate Page Program. As a Senate Page, Radka will help with the important day-to-day operations of the U.S. Senate, according to Murphy. He arrives at the U.S. Capitol for his first day as a Senate Page on Tuesday, Sept. 5.

“I’m really excited to have Dan as part of the Page program,” Murphy said in a press release. “He’s going to learn a lot about public policy and about how to improve his community back home through service. Dan is a star student with loads of leadership experience, including as Vice President of his class and as moderator on his debate team. I’m looking forward to having him help out.”

Page responsibilities include delivery of correspondence and legislative materials within the Congressional complex, taking messages for members, preparing the Chamber for Senate sessions, and carrying bills and amendments to the desk. Pages are also required to attend classes each morning at the Page School beginning at 6:15 a.m.

“I am very honored to have been granted the opportunity to serve as a Senate Page,” Radka said. “I am looking forward to experiencing the highest level of our nation's government firsthand while simultaneously being educated about its inner workings and processes. I'm hoping to learn as much as I can about the United States Senate, its members, and the legislation that will pass through its chamber during my tenure as a page."

The Senate Page Program is administrated by the Sergeant at Arms, the Secretary of the Senate, and the party secretaries.
