Clinton Town Beach Access to be Impacted on Saturday

Clinton Police announce that the beach will be closed for a period of time on Saturday in preparation of the Summer Fest & Fireworks Display

CLINTON, CT — As a result of the fireworks show Saturday night, normal operations at the Clinton Town Beach will be greatly impacted on Saturday, Aug. 20, including the closure of the beach for a period of time, according to police.

The beach will be closed to the entire public between the hours of 3 p.m. and 5 p.m.

Police said the beach will reopen to pedestrian traffic only at 5 p.m. and return to normal operations on Sunday morning.

There will be NO parking allowed at the Town Beach between 6 a.m. and 12 p.m. in preparations for the Clinton Summer Fest and Fireworks display. Pedestrian access will be granted and residents may drop off and pick up pedestrians on Waterside Lane during the day.

PLEASE NOTE*** The Beach will be CLOSED to the entire public between the hours of 3pm and 5pm. The Beach will re-open to pedestrian traffic only at 5pm and return to normal operations Sunday morning.

We recognize that this is an inconvenience to some but in the interest of safety, we must restrict vehicles from entering the beach and parking. Explosives (fireworks) are being delivered and prepared for launch and numerous vendors and others will be setting up booths and displays.
