Clinton Woman Describes Vegas Shooting Chaos

CLINTON, CT - A Clinton woman told WFSB that she was a mere five minutes away from the worst mass shooting in American history. Monkie Martinez wasn't at the country music festival but experienced the "tidal wave effect" of people fleeing the scene. She was at a nearby food court and attempted to return to her hotel, but by that time hotels were under lock down.

The Sunday night shooting is the deadliest in modern U.S. history. As of Tuesday morning, 59 people were dead and over 500 were injured. The shooter, Stephen Paddock, was firing on the concert from the 32nd story of the Mandalay Bay Hotel. He died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound before police broke into his hotel room.
